I have owned quite a few Stinger flashlights over the years for use at home and work. They have held up under some of the most extreme use imaginable and have always kept working. The ones I have killed were all well used and usually it is the switch module that's given up the ghost. I've also been able to resist most of the marketing hype trying to get us to buy all the "new" upgraded lights and extra bells and whistles (I did buy an HP light module for my Ultra Stinger). So when this last Stinger quit a few months ago I thought, "What the heck, I'll try one of the new C4 LED models." All I can say is wow, this thing isn't just a module you add on, it is built tough and is incredibly bright. It is also much easier on the battery sticks, I haven't been focused on the exact times but a battery seems to last a noticeable longer time in the LED unit compared to the original style lights. The C4 lights aren't much bigger than the original units either so they fit in the holders or tool belt loops without having to go out and buy new ones. Kudos to Streamlight for doing this, it seems the corporate trend over the years has been to slightly change the designs of their equipment so none of the accessories will work with different models, even ones released in the same year occasionally. Anyway this is a long winded way of saying the LED Stingers are well worth the investment, you won't be disappointed! So I use this in the automotive repair field but this definitely seems better suited for security type jobs. It's built like a tank (dropped many many many times and still going strong) it's weatherproof, pretty bright, and the battery lasts a long time. The different modes are nice in case you're looking at something close and don't need full brightness, the strobe is useless to me and kind of annoying but it's there. The only downside to this light (for me) is that the beam pattern is very focused into a spot. On the other hand because of that the light throw is very far. The piggy back charger has to be one of the best features and really makes charging convenient because you can charge the light and a spare battery simultaneously. Without a doubt worth the money, just wish it had an adjustable head for the beam pattern to make it a perfect product. Don't worry Streamlight, can't please everyone...I kinda feel like i've been scammed a little bit. For starters let me say the light is great and well built, and it fits great on my duty belt even though I was concerned about the size of it getting in the way of it's wear ability. Now the bad the batter is very low grade Ni-Cad which is not listed in the listing at all. The bad part about the Ni-Cad battery is they are horrible not user friendly and will develop a memory if your the type of person that throws the flashlight on charge with out running the battery down completely dead. So in my case I have a standard 12 hour charger in my police car and I use the flashlight on a shift for two hours and throw it on charge eventually the battery will start dying quickly due to the low grade of battery it is.Next is there is no end cap button on the rear of the flash light, which makes since because they don't show a picture of the rear of the flash light. The whole purchase just makes me feel scammed, nothing specific was listed and I had to spend another twenty dollars to get the end cap on off button, and I'm going to spend another twenty five dollars getting the right battery for this light after all that I amy going to be in my flash light for 140 dollars and I could have got it with a charger and a good battery and a end cap on off for 125 dollars. this listing is a great example of listings that are appearing to be great deals to grab your money. This flashlight works well and the price is MUCH better than of the Tool Trucks. I use it daily in an auto repair shop. It's a little larger and heavier than the stingers I've owned in the past (but uses the same charger that I had from its predecessors). This is not a "shirt-pocket" flashlight. It holds a charge for a good long time and the LED aspect is much better than the annoying temperamental little bulbs in my old Stingers. My only complaint would be that the black color doesn't really stand out when set amongst my tools. I've attached colorful zip-ties round it to render it more visible. The Streamlight Stinger LED HP is by far the brightest stinger ever, it uses the same led bulb as the led stinger but has a larger focusing head on the flashlight making the beam more intense. three selectable levels of brightness allow you to tone it down to a more reasonable level. This is my 2nd stinger and being a lifelong mechanic I will tell you there is no tougher or cheaper overall cost flashlight than these led stingers. simply an awesome tool. I use both of my stingers every day!I would recommend buying it with a fast charger if you need to use the light constantly. When I ordered the light I hoped it included the battery as it did not say, It does come with even when you order just the light.I enjoy this light especially when it is dark it is very bright and focused. I took a little while figuring out how to dim it but all you have to do is hold the button down. It's so bright I usually use it on low or medium. If you're curious, I use it while working on cars. The only thing to watch out for is at the end where the lense is, is not very thick or protected so if you drop it, the lense can crack easier. The only thing I would change is to make the lense area more protected. Other than that this is by far the best stinger/streamlite ive ownedGreat flashlight, superb output and real quality feel
